This covers: modal (free vibration) analysis & Unbalance response & Seismic analysis. Based on this the safety / adequacy of the design under dynamic loads and life cycle (endurance) can be assessed. For rotating machines, it is critical that natural frequencies are well away from operating speed ranges to avoid resonance. Also for these machines, the resulting vibration at the bearings & impeller locations be assessed under unbalance condition. Seismic analysis is generally carried out for building & other critical steel structures & equipments such as used in power plants, etc. Transient dynamic analysis sis carried out for structures exposed to blast or impulse loads such as from hydraulic press, impact machines, etc.
