Combat vehicles have diesel engines that are more than 1000 HP Generating almost  more than 300 kilowatt of heat.  the heat must be extracted efficiently in order to prevent engine from getting overheated and ceasing.
Challenges to the above problems include Extremely confined spaces, Lack of flexibility In designing  due to customers requirements.


Fantek has taken up the responsibility of reviewing the existing design of centrifugal fan with heat exchanger,  modifying the design of the existing system consisting of fan bearings and heat exchanger,  and supplying a test setup in which the modified design could be tested.

The ambient temperature Surrounding the engine was originally 160 degrees.  upon successfully giving a modified design of impeller,  the volume of cooling air increased by nearly 25% and engine temperature dropped from 160 degrees to 120 degree. Modified centrifugal impeller runs at 14000 RPM driven by belts.

Aircraft carriers are large vessels which are used for launching, landing and parking of fighter aircrafts.  to achieve the minimum flight speed,  Aircraft carriers have something called steam catapults.  steam catapults Provide additional trust to the fighter aircrafts to attain the required flight speed within the short length of Runway available on the aircraft carrier.
the connecting member between the steam catapult and fighter aircraft is a critical member which bears the entire Load of the Fighter Aircraft. Any mistakes in design could land the fighter aircraft in a major accident.
With our unique expertise in finite element methods,  we have successfully designed the connecting member for one of our customers in the defence sector.
